Arrive alive

On my regular route to church there is a traffic alert sign that I pass and it keeps a running total of deaths on Georgia’s highways and under the total it flashes drive alert and arrive alive. I am saddened as the total is higher almost every time I drive by.  I couldn’t help but wonder how many of us drive alert on the actual highway and also on the spiritual highway.  There are so many distractions to be found in this life that pull our attention away from the holy path Christ has set before us.

Hebrews 12: 1-2 call us to fix our eyes on Jesus and to throw of the baggage that trips us up. As we travel on the road of life let us keep our focus on Christ and avoid the pot holes of self-serving thought. Let us not get so caught up in what the world presents as exit ramps and detours along the way that we miss an opportunity to help those who we find broken down along the way.  Let us fill our tanks with the Word and follow the road map of a life bathed in prayer.
If we continue to keep our focus on Christ and where He is leading us we will arrive alive at the end of our journey.

                                                                                                                Blessings,
